Fixed braces offer a secure and steady means of aligning your teeth. The brackets are bonded to the outward side of your teeth, then connected by a wire which runs through the middle of each bracket. The wire employs gentle pressure over time for subtle repositioning of your teeth. The wire is secured with elastic bands or clips that attach to each bracket, holding the wire firmly in place.

At Willow Tree Dental you have the option to choose from metal or ceramic fixed braces. Both work in the same way, but, ceramic braces have clear or tooth-coloured brackets and wires. This makes them a much less noticeable, but an equally effective, way to deal with a host of orthodontic problems.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Fixed braces can usually be fitted in under an hour! Once you and your Orthodontist have decided this is the right brace system for you then we are able to fit your braces soon after we’ve taken your pre-orthodontic records.

We fit both arches at the same time if you wish and you will see your Orthodontist every 6-8 weeks for adjustments and wire changes.
